Tea Flower (Hua Cha)

A palm-sized haystack. Squat as a broomstick. Soak it in a boiling teapot and it unfolds like a lotus.

The leaves unfold, lifting like the spires of a cathedral (according to the box).
The spiky petals remind me of sea urchins. I wouldn't taste the amber-tinted water (which smelled like bark) but I kept it in a bowl until it finally fell apart.

I wish I could bloom underwater.
